Third Friday Art Show

Students Paint for EPCAMR!

Join us for the show's opening at Wilkes-Barre's 3rd Friday on September 16th at Artsyouniverse!

The exhibit is going to be of my students’ artwork created with iron oxide pigment donated by EPCAMR (Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation) in celebration of their 15th anniversary. The children learned about the past mining, how this has adversely affected local watersheds and how they could use the reclaimed iron oxide in. The children were invited to experiment with the pigment and to be creative. Most of the children chose to mix the pigments with watercolor.

CCLC Show at the Luzerne County Courthouse

For everyone who hasn't heard, there's a great show being held at the Luzerne County Courthouse by the CCLC, or Cultural Council of Luzerne County. It is entitled "Inspired by the Susquehanna" and is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. It will be running through November 7th, so make sure to stop by!

Last week I was painting in Aruba. As soon as I unpack I can post some of those images. So everyone who is getting a dose of this cold weather...look forward to feeling warmer!
